Two tips to stretch your budget further: 1. **Facebook Marketplace and estate sales** for furniture. I furnished my first Airbnb for $3,200 by buying a nearly-new leather sofa ($150 vs $800 retail), a solid wood dining set ($80), and bedroom dressers ($40 each) from Marketplace. Just make sure everything is clean and in good condition. 2. **Buy white linens ONLY.** White towels, white sheets. They can be bleached when stained, they look clean and hotel-like, and you can replace individual pieces without matching colors. This saved me hundreds on linen replacement over the years.

Where to spend MORE than you think: - **Mattress.** A bad night's sleep = bad review. The Zinus recommendation above is the floor. If you can stretch to $400-500 for a Casper or Tuft & Needle, it'll pay dividends in sleep-quality reviews. - **Pillows.** Get a variety: 2 firm, 2 soft per bed. Different sleepers have different preferences. - **Towels.** Cheap towels feel thin and scratchy. Costco's Charisma towels are the sweet spot — hotel quality at consumer prices. Where to save MORE than you think: - **Wall art.** IKEA prints or printable art from Etsy ($3-5 each for digital downloads + $5 thrift store frame). No one judges your art taste as long as it's not empty walls. - **Kitchen utensils.** Dollar Tree has surprisingly decent basic kitchen tools. Don't overspend here. - **Décor.** Less is more. A few plants (fake is fine), a candle, and some books. Don't clutter the space.
