The best cleaners come from referrals. Here's my playbook: 1. **Ask other local hosts.** Join a Facebook group for "Charlotte Airbnb Hosts" or similar. Hosts share cleaner recommendations all the time. 2. **TurnoverBnB** — it's basically an app built specifically for STR cleaners. You post your property, set the rate, and cleaners claim the job. Quality varies but you can find gems. 3. **Nextdoor** — post asking for house cleaners who are open to recurring work. Mention it's for a vacation rental so they know there's consistent income. 4. **Your current cleaner's network** — before they leave, ask if they know anyone. Most cleaners know other cleaners. Always do a paid trial clean and check the place yourself before trusting them with unsupervised turnovers. Have a checklist with photos of how everything should look.

I use TurnoverBnB and it's been solid. The key is to build up 2-3 backup cleaners, not just rely on one person. I have a primary cleaner who does 90% of turnovers and two backups who I rotate in when she's unavailable. Also — $90 for a 2BR/1BA in Charlotte is a great rate. You might have to pay $100-110 now depending on the market. Good cleaners know their worth and STR turnovers are harder than regular house cleaning (laundry, restocking, detailed checklist).

For the immediate 3-day emergency: post on Taskrabbit for a one-time deep clean. You'll pay a premium ($120-150) but it'll get you through the next booking while you search for someone permanent. Also, create a detailed cleaning checklist with photos. Makes it SO much easier to onboard new cleaners and ensures consistency regardless of who cleans.
