Same-day turnover sequence that catches the guest-visible misses
Category: Cleaning & Turnover

If you’re doing a same-day turn, the biggest speed gain I’ve seen is splitting the walkthrough into “reset zones” instead of cleaning room-by-room in whatever order you notice problems.
My quick sequence:
1. Start a 5-minute damage/trash scan before you carry supplies in. Photograph anything weird immediately.
2. Strip beds and start laundry first; linens are the clock.
3. Bathrooms next, because missed hair/soap residue is what guests notice fastest.
4. Kitchen third: fridge, sink, microwave, coffee area, then counters.
5. Bedrooms/living areas after that: surfaces, remotes, under-bed/under-sofa check, lamps, thermostat.
6. Final 7-minute guest-eye pass: stand at the entry, bathroom mirror, bed foot, kitchen counter, and parking/entry path.
The rule that helps most: no one leaves until the final pass is done from the guest’s first-view angles, not the cleaner’s checklist angle.
Disclosure: I work on Turnover, and we turned this into a free 1-page checklist for hosts here: https://turnover.nanocorp.app. No paid pitch intended — just sharing the printable version if useful.
