This makes sense for its white-label, platform-embedded positioning (it’s often sold through PMS partners rather than direct to individual hosts), but it means SuperHog is the easier tool to budget for as an independent host evaluating options today.

Autohost’s AI analyzes 2,500+ ID document types from 140+ countries, combined with liveness detection (confirming a real person, not a photo), fraud signal analysis, social media cross-referencing, criminal database checks and payment validation — a genuinely comprehensive fraud-detection stack. Its network-effect model, where signals from across its entire platform inform each new screening, is a real differentiator versus tools that only look at the booking in front of them. The claimed 98% chargeback win rate reflects how strong that evidence trail is when disputes happen.

SuperHog’s KnowYourGuest screening checks guest data against internal databases, phone/email/IP profiles, known data breaches and criminal or sex-offender records, plus ID and selfie verification — solid and genuinely effective, but with a narrower scope than Autohost’s AI-driven approach. One notable limitation shared by both to be aware of: SuperHog explicitly verifies only the lead guest, not every adult on a booking.

SuperHog integrates with RentalWise, Smily, Pass the Keys, Enso Connect and Kigo, syncing property and guest details to trigger verification automatically. Its integration list is narrower and relies more on partner ecosystems than a universal API, but for hosts on one of its supported platforms, the experience is comparably automatic to Autohost’s.

Both tools require guests to complete verification (ID upload, selfie, sometimes payment validation) before check-in, which adds friction versus no screening at all — a trade-off every host using either tool accepts in exchange for risk reduction. Autohost’s deeper verification (liveness check, more ID types) may take marginally longer for guests to complete but catches more sophisticated fraud attempts.
