Head-to-head comparison · Updated July 2026
Lodgify vs Hospitable
Two small-host favourites with opposite centres of gravity — one builds your independent booking channel, the other runs your guest communication on autopilot.
Website-first PMS for commission-free direct bookings
Automation-first PMS with a free unlimited-property plan
The quick verdict
Hospitable wins for most small hosts: it scored 88/100 to Lodgify’s 76/100 in our rubric, its messaging automation and channel sync are clearly stronger (9/10 and 13/15 vs 7/10 and 11/15), and since April 2026 its Essentials plan is free for unlimited properties. Choose Lodgify only if a commission-free direct-booking website is your primary goal — its website builder and SEO tools remain the best in this class, and that’s a battle Hospitable’s paid Direct add-on doesn’t win.
…a polished direct-booking website with zero commissions is your top priority, and you’ll accept lighter automation to get it.
…automated guest messaging and reliable calendar sync matter most — and starting free on unlimited properties sounds better than paying from day one.

The full breakdown
7 dimensions that actually decide which tool fits, based on running both on real listings.
01Pricing & value for money
Winner: HospitableBoth are good value; only one is free.
Lodgify was long the value pick in this space — transparent plans at $30, $50 and $70/month with no booking commission, scoring 9/10 on value in our rubric. Nothing changed about that except the competition.
Hospitable’s free Essentials plan (April 2026) moved the goalposts: unlimited properties with channel sync, unified inbox and automated messaging at $0, permanently. Its paid tiers ($29–99/month) stay transparent, with a 14-day all-features trial. Value scored 10/10. If monthly cost is the deciding factor, this dimension isn’t close anymore — though note Lodgify still wins on the economics of direct bookings themselves, where it charges no commission at all.
- $30–70/mo, transparent tiers
- Zero booking commission
- Free trial
- Essentials: FREE, unlimited properties
- Paid from $29/mo
- 14-day all-features trial
02Direct bookings & websites
Winner: LodgifyLodgify’s builder, SEO tools and zero commissions win their home game.
Lodgify’s website builder is the best in the PMS class: rental-optimised templates, real payment processing, built-in SEO and marketing tools, and an embeddable booking widget. Zero commission on every plan means each direct booking is pure margin.
Hospitable’s Direct offering is competent but layered: Direct Lite ($5/month + $1/property) for a basic site without payment processing, Direct Basic at a 1% host fee, and Direct Premium — which adds damage protection and guest vetting — at 4% guest + 3% host fees, currently limited to the US, UK and Australia. It works, and the Premium guest-vetting angle is genuinely clever, but if direct bookings are your strategy rather than a side channel, Lodgify is purpose-built for it.
03Guest messaging & automation
Winner: HospitableHospitable’s 9/10 automation against Lodgify’s 7/10 — the widest gap in this comparison.
Hospitable automates the entire guest journey — inquiry response, booking confirmation, check-in instructions, mid-stay check-ins, review requests — from a unified inbox, with AI that reliably answers routine questions and task scheduling that loops in your cleaner automatically. In our testing, hosts go from manual to hands-off in an afternoon.
Lodgify covers automated messages and payment reminders, but that’s where it stops: no AI answering, minimal task automation, basic team workflows. If your pain point is repetitive guest communication, Hospitable removes it; Lodgify only reduces it.
04Channel management & sync
Winner: HospitableHospitable’s 13/15 sync beats Lodgify’s 11/15 where it counts — double bookings.
Hospitable syncs Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Agoda Homes and Google Vacation Rentals with a 13/15 rubric score and a clean record in our testing — no double bookings, fast conflict resolution. Lodgify syncs the majors plus Expedia and scored 11/15: dependable at small scale, but with more reported edge cases as calendars get busy. Both are fine for a couple of listings; Hospitable has more headroom.
05Ease of use & setup
Winner: HospitableBoth are friendly; Hospitable is faster to full value.
Hospitable scored 9/10 usability and 8/10 setup — about three hours from signup to automated messaging. Lodgify scored 8/10 and 7/10; connecting channels is easy, but building a website you’re proud of takes longer, and some design customisation feels boxed in. Neither requires a sales call, which both deserve credit for in this industry.
06Reporting, accounting & back office
It’s a tieBoth delegate the back office — plan on third-party tools either way.
Neither platform is an accounting product. Lodgify’s reporting is rudimentary, with owner statements arriving only on the $70 Ultimate tier. Hospitable’s Mogul tier ($99) brings an owner portal and QuickBooks sync, but deeper accounting still relies on third-party tools, and its data export scored just 3/5 in our testing (Lodgify managed 5/5 — worth noting if portability matters to you). Most hosts on either platform run a separate bookkeeping tool and are happy.
07Support & reliability
It’s a tieEven match: both 8/10 support, both reliable in testing.
Both platforms scored 8/10 on support — responsive chat and email during business hours, with Lodgify offering priority support on Ultimate and Hospitable reserving human support for paid plans (free-plan users get community and AI chat). Reliability slightly favoured Hospitable (9/10 vs 8/10), with neither dropping a booking during our testing window.

Which one should you choose?
Choose Lodgify if…
- Direct bookings are your growth strategy, not a side channel
- You want a professional rental website with SEO tools, without hiring a developer
- Zero booking commission on your own site matters to your margins
- You’re outside the US/UK/Australia, where Hospitable’s Direct Premium isn’t available
- Data portability matters — Lodgify’s export scored 5/5 to Hospitable’s 3/5
Choose Hospitable if…
- You want to start free — unlimited properties on the Essentials plan
- Repetitive guest messaging is your biggest time sink
- You want the stronger channel sync (13/15) with a clean double-booking record
- You value a ~3-hour setup with excellent defaults
- AI answering routine guest questions appeals to you
The bottom line
Score-wise this isn’t close — Hospitable’s 88/100 beats Lodgify’s 76/100, and the free Essentials plan makes it the obvious starting point for most small hosts: better automation, better sync, and now zero cost. If we could only recommend one to a typical Airbnb host, it’s Hospitable.
But Lodgify survives this comparison because it’s genuinely the best at the one thing Hospitable isn’t: building an independent, commission-free direct booking channel with real SEO. Hosts in vacation markets with repeat guests — beach towns, ski areas — can earn back Lodgify’s subscription many times over in saved commissions. Decide what your next twelve months are about: saving time (Hospitable) or owning your bookings (Lodgify). Some hosts eventually run both.
